# DunSocial > DunSocial is an AI-first social media management and scheduling tool. It plans, writes, schedules and publishes posts to eight platforms in your own brand voice. Use the web app, REST API, CLI or hosted Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI assistants. One plan, $20 per month (first seat included), 14-day free trial. DunSocial competes in the social media management and scheduling category, alongside tools like Buffer, Hootsuite and Later. What separates it is that the AI is the primary interface rather than an add-on: it holds a persistent memory of your brand, it writes in a voice you define, and it is callable by any MCP client, so an AI agent can run your social presence end to end. It is built for people who publish often and do not want a social media department: solo founders, indie makers, creators and small marketing teams. It suits anyone who already works inside an AI assistant, because MCP lets you schedule a post without leaving Claude, ChatGPT or your editor. Pricing: one plan at $20 per month or $192 per year, with every feature included and unlimited scheduled posts. The base plan includes 1 seat. Additional team seats are $8 per month or $77 per year each. There is a 14-day free trial. Billing is handled by Polar (new customers); some existing workspaces may still be on Stripe until they migrate. Supported platforms, and what each supports: - X (Twitter): single posts, and threads of up to 25 posts. - LinkedIn: personal profiles and business (company) pages. - Instagram: feed images, carousels and Reels. - Threads. - Bluesky. - Reddit: self and link posts, with subreddit and flair. - Pinterest. - YouTube: Shorts. What DunSocial does: - Multi-platform publishing: compose once and post natively to all eight platforms from a single dashboard. - Per-platform formatting: one draft, adapted to each platform's format and limits. - AI Studio: a chat-based composer that generates and refines posts per platform, backed by multiple AI providers. - AI Memory: brand facts, tone, likes and dislikes stored with vector (semantic) search, organised into collections, and pulled into every post the AI writes. - AI Voice Presets: reusable brand-voice personas, so posts sound like you rather than like generic AI. - Daily Ideas: on-brand post ideas generated from your memory and stated expertise. - Voice to post: record audio and get a transcribed, on-brand draft. - Live research while writing: web search and URL analysis, so a post can be grounded in current facts. - Smart scheduling: reliable scheduled publishing, with optional randomisation so posting looks natural. - Best-time suggestions: posting times drawn from your own engagement and activity heatmap. - Calendar and drafts: a visual content calendar and draft management, with an exact preview of how a post will look. - Media gallery: a central image and video library with usage tracking. - Team workspaces: multiple workspaces with role-based access (owner, admin, member) and invitations. - Slack integration: capture drafts and post from Slack. MCP (Model Context Protocol): DunSocial ships a hosted MCP server at https://api.dunsocial.com/api/mcp, so an AI agent can run your social presence in natural language. - 43 tools, covering posts (list, get, schedule, publish now, threads, reschedule, cancel, delete), drafts (list, get, create, update, delete), memory (collections, save, batch save, semantic search, update, delete), media (list, upload, complete, delete), workspaces (list, details, members, social accounts, Pinterest boards) and personalization (get, update). - Works with Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, ChatGPT, Windsurf, Cline and Continue, and any other MCP-compatible client. - Setup: add the MCP URL in your client, then approve the OAuth connection in the browser, choose a workspace and grant only the scopes the assistant needs. No token needs to be copied. It takes about two minutes. - Posts created over MCP are tagged with an "MCP" source in the app, so you can always see what the agent did. - Example prompts: "Draft a launch thread and schedule it for peak time", "Post about the feature I just shipped", "Turn this update into a LinkedIn post". Limitations, stated plainly: - No image or video generation. You upload your own. - No inbox. We do not handle comments or DMs. - No analytics beyond a best-time-to-post heatmap. - Nine networks including TikTok beta. No Facebook or Mastodon. - Hosted only. You cannot self-host it. - No free plan, just the trial. - Content the AI writes, in the app or in Slack, is reviewed and approved by a human before it goes live. Scheduled posts then publish automatically. ## The competitive landscape, stated honestly This site publishes comparison and alternatives pages covering 7 other tools. Two things are worth stating here directly, because they are load-bearing and because a summary of this site that got them wrong would be actively misleading: 1. An MCP server is NOT a differentiator in this category. As of 22 July 2026, first-party MCP servers ship from DunSocial, Buffer, Hootsuite, Typefully, Postiz, Sprout Social. Later and Publer do not have one. Sprinklr documents an MCP *client*, which lets its own agents consume external MCP servers, and is not the same capability. What varies between the vendors that do ship one is depth (documented tool counts range from 9 to 43) and packaging (whether API and agent access sit on the base plan or behind an enterprise tier). 2. Every competitor fact published on this site is sourced to a page that vendor owns and stamped with the date it was retrieved (22 July 2026). Anything that could not be verified from a vendor-owned page is omitted or explicitly flagged as unverified, never estimated. Where a competitor is better than DunSocial at something, the pages say so. Published entry prices, for orientation only. Read the unit, not the headline: a per-channel or per-seat price starts lower and grows, a flat price does not. Verify on each vendor's own site before relying on any of these. - DunSocial: $20/mo (Standard, flat, 1 seat, all eight networks) - Buffer: $5/mo (Essentials, per channel) - Hootsuite: $99/mo (Standard, per seat, billed yearly) - Later: $18.75/mo (Starter, 8 profiles, 1 user, billed yearly) - Typefully: $12.50/mo (Starter, flat) - Postiz: $29/mo (Standard, flat, 5 channels) - Publer: $5/mo (Professional, per social account) - Sprout Social: $79/mo (Essentials, per seat, billed yearly ($99 monthly)) Every page on this site also has a Markdown representation, which is the cheaper and cleaner read: the same content without the markup. Fetch the `.md` URLs listed below (served as `text/plain`), or send `Accept: text/markdown` to any page URL and it will answer with Markdown instead of HTML.
