# How to schedule or publish social posts from a coding agent with MCP

MCP can schedule or publish, but repository access does not make an agent the owner of your public voice. Keep understanding, drafting and publication as separate decisions.

Scheduling with a short review window is safer than publishing immediately, especially when a release job or migration can still change.

## What you will do

- Confirm the release is publicly available.
- Require a complete preflight before a write tool runs.
- Capture the returned DunSocial post ID and status.

## Before you start

- An active DunSocial workspace with the intended social accounts already connected.
- An MCP client that supports Streamable HTTP and OAuth, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Copilot Studio.
- A person who can review the final account, copy and time before publishing.
- Reviewed final copy and a public URL that is already reachable.

## Step by step

### 1. Verify release state

Ask the agent to check the public changelog or release page, not merely a local branch. Do not announce code that has not reached users.

### 2. List destinations and queue

Read connected accounts and scheduled posts around the intended time. This catches wrong accounts and duplicate announcements.

### 3. Run a preflight

Make the agent state the final copy, public link, account names, ISO timestamp and action.

> Prepare to schedule this approved release post. Show the final copy, public URL, destination account names and ISO time. Wait for my approval before calling a tool.

### 4. Schedule and verify

After approval, schedule the post and return its ID. Check the DunSocial preview. Use publish-now only when immediate publication is genuinely required and reviewed.

## Check before you finish

- The assistant names the correct DunSocial workspace and destination accounts.
- Every factual claim comes from the source material or saved workspace memory.
- The final action, timezone and returned post or draft IDs are visible.

## Where to go next

Keep the post ID in release notes so a rollback or timing change can reschedule or cancel the existing item.
