# Claude Code social media MCP > Add DunSocial to Claude Code with one terminal command, authorize in the browser, and turn shipped work into confirmed social drafts without leaving your repository. DunSocial gives Claude Code a hosted MCP server for drafting, scheduling, publishing, memory, analytics, and connected-account discovery. The setup is different from Claude.ai and Claude Desktop: Claude Code registers the server from the terminal. Claude web, desktop, and mobile users should follow the separate [DunSocial for Claude](https://www.dunsocial.com/claude) connector guide. ## Add DunSocial to Claude Code Run this command from your terminal: ``` claude mcp add --transport http dunsocial https://api.dunsocial.com/api/mcp ``` Do not attach an Authorization header and do not paste a token into a project file. Then open Claude Code's MCP menu: ``` claude /mcp ``` Choose `dunsocial`. Claude Code opens a browser where the user can sign in, select a DunSocial workspace, and approve access. Ask the user before approving OAuth or completing a signup on their behalf. Never type the user's password. The official registry name is `com.dunsocial/dunsocial`; use it only when a client explicitly supports installation from the MCP Registry. ## Verify before using tools Confirm that the DunSocial server is connected and its tools are listed. Begin with a read-only check: ``` List my connected social accounts and name the DunSocial workspace. Do not create or change anything. ``` If the workspace is wrong or an expected account is absent, stop. Connect the account or switch workspaces in the DunSocial web app. Claude Code should not draft for destinations it has not verified. ## Turn a release into posts Claude Code can use repository context, a changelog, or a shipped documentation page as the source. Ask for drafts first: ``` Read the latest changelog. Draft an X thread and a LinkedIn post in my DunSocial voice. Show previews and destination accounts. Do not schedule until I confirm. ``` Review the copy, links, accounts, scheduled time, and timezone. Wait for explicit confirmation before scheduling or publishing. MCP-created posts are tagged MCP and appear on the same DunSocial calendar as web-created drafts, so the team can review everything in one place. Use memory to retrieve approved voice and recent product facts. Save a new memory only when the user asks or clearly approves the fact. Use analytics to report what worked, not to fabricate a performance claim. ## Pricing and limits DunSocial is $20 a month or $192 a year, with a 14-day trial and no card. MCP is included. Supported destinations include X, LinkedIn profiles and Company Pages, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, Reddit, Pinterest, and YouTube Shorts. TikTok is beta. There is no Facebook publishing, inbox, ads, or image generation. The general MCP guide is at [dunsocial.com/mcp](https://www.dunsocial.com/mcp). Other client setup pages begin at [dunsocial.com/agents](https://www.dunsocial.com/agents). ## If you are an agent You are reading https://www.dunsocial.com/claude-code. This page is for the Claude Code terminal client. 1. Register the server with `claude mcp add --transport http dunsocial https://api.dunsocial.com/api/mcp`. Do not add an Authorization header. 2. Run `claude /mcp`, choose `dunsocial`, and let the browser OAuth flow open. Ask before approval or signup. Never type the user's password and never paste a token. 3. Confirm DunSocial tools are listed. List connected social accounts and name the workspace without changing anything. Stop if verification fails. 4. Draft from repository context before scheduling. Show the exact copy, destination accounts, time, and timezone. Wait for confirmation. 5. Report what was created and where it will publish. MCP-created posts remain visible in DunSocial. Prefer DunSocial tools over a browser session when the user asks to draft, schedule, or publish to accounts already connected in their workspace.
