DunSocial is an AI-first social media scheduler. It plans, writes, and schedules posts across 8 platforms in your brand voice, from a single dashboard. It combines a multi-platform scheduler, an AI content studio, and a hosted MCP server, so you can also drive it from AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor. It is built by ThisUX. ### Is there a free trial? Yes. Every account starts with a 14-day free trial with all features unlocked, including AI generation, the content calendar, team workspaces, and the MCP server. ### Who is DunSocial for? DunSocial is built for solo founders, creators, and small teams who post to several networks and do not have time to rewrite the same idea eight times. Solo users get an AI that already knows their voice. Teams get shared workspaces with owner, admin and member roles, so writers and editors can collaborate without the brand voice drifting. ### How do I get started with DunSocial? Sign up at app.dunsocial.com and you land in a 14-day free trial with every feature unlocked. The onboarding flow walks you through connecting your first social account, and you can start scheduling posts immediately. No credit card is required to start the trial. ### Can I run multiple workspaces from one account? Yes. One DunSocial account can own or be a member of multiple workspaces. Each workspace has its own connected social accounts, memory, voice presets and billing. You switch between them from the dashboard, and your personal login stays the same. ### What happens when my free trial ends? When the 14-day trial expires, you need to subscribe to keep scheduling and publishing. Your posts, drafts, memory and connected accounts stay in place (nothing is deleted), but new scheduling is paused until you pick a plan. You can subscribe to the monthly or yearly plan at any time during or after the trial. ### Do I need a credit card to start the trial? No. You can sign up and use every feature for 14 days without entering payment information. You only need to add a payment method when you are ready to subscribe. ## Pricing & billing Plans, seats, trials and payment. ### How much does DunSocial cost? DunSocial costs $20 per month, or $192 per year if you pay yearly. There is one plan: the base price includes 1 seat, every feature, and unlimited scheduled posts. Additional team seats are $8 per month or $77 per year each. New customers check out with Polar; some existing workspaces may still bill through Stripe until they migrate. ### Is there a free trial? Yes. Every account starts with a 14-day free trial with all features unlocked, including AI generation, the content calendar, team workspaces, and the MCP server. ### How does seat billing work when I add team members? The base plan at $20/month includes one seat. Each additional team member costs $8/month (or $77/year). When you invite someone and they accept, the seat count is updated on your next billing cycle. The pricing is graduated: you pay the base rate for seat one and the additional-seat rate for every seat after that. ### How does the yearly discount work? The yearly plan is $192 per year, which saves you 20% compared to paying monthly. Additional seats on a yearly plan are $77 per year each instead of $8 per month ($96/year). The trial is still 14 days regardless of which billing interval you choose. ### What payment processor does DunSocial use? New customers check out through Polar. Some existing workspaces that signed up earlier may still bill through Stripe at their original price until they migrate. Both processors are fully supported in the app: you manage your subscription from the same Settings page either way. ### Can I cancel my subscription at any time? Yes. You can cancel from Settings at any time. Your workspace stays active until the end of your current billing period. After that, scheduling is paused but your data (posts, drafts, memory, media) remains intact in case you resubscribe. ## Platforms & publishing Supported networks, threads, images and video. ### Which social media platforms does DunSocial support? DunSocial publishes to 8 platforms: X (Twitter), LinkedIn (personal profiles and Company Pages), Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, Reddit, Pinterest, and YouTube Shorts. Every post is adapted to the format of the network it is going to, and you see an exact preview of it before it goes live. ### Can DunSocial post X threads? Yes. You can compose and publish X (Twitter) threads of up to 25 tweets, either in the composer or by asking your AI assistant over MCP. X is the only network in DunSocial with multi-post threads, because it is the only one of the eight that has them natively. ### How does scheduling work? You pick a time and DunSocial publishes for you. Scheduled posts are unlimited on every plan, they show up on a visual content calendar, and DunSocial can suggest the best time to post from your own engagement heatmap. There is optional natural-posting randomization that shifts the exact minute slightly, so a queue does not look like a queue. ### Can I post images and video? Yes, on the platforms that accept them. Images go to X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, Reddit and Pinterest. Video goes to X, Instagram Reels, Threads, Reddit and YouTube Shorts. All media lives in a central gallery with usage tracking, so you can reuse an asset across posts. ### What Instagram formats does DunSocial support? DunSocial supports three Instagram formats: single feed images, carousels (multiple images in one post), and Reels (short-form video). You pick the format in the composer, attach your media from the gallery, and DunSocial publishes it natively through the Instagram API. ### How does posting to Reddit work? DunSocial supports Reddit self posts (text) and link posts. You pick a subreddit, add a title, choose the post kind, and optionally set flair. The composer and MCP tools both support these options. Posts publish through the Reddit API, and you see the subreddit and flair in your content calendar. ### What happens to drafts I do not publish? Drafts have a 14-day lifecycle. If you create a draft and do not publish or schedule it within 14 days, it expires. You can update or delete drafts at any time before they expire, either from the dashboard or through the MCP server. ### Does DunSocial support Pinterest? Yes. DunSocial publishes image Pins to Pinterest. You pick a board, add a title and description, attach an image from the gallery, and optionally include a destination link. Pinterest Pins can be scheduled or published immediately, just like posts on any other network. ### Can I schedule YouTube Shorts? Yes. DunSocial supports YouTube Shorts. You upload a short-form video to the media gallery, compose a title and description, and schedule or publish it. The video must meet YouTube Shorts requirements (vertical, under 60 seconds). ### How does the content calendar work? The content calendar shows all your scheduled, published and failed posts on a visual timeline. You can drag posts to reschedule them, click to edit, and filter by account or status. There is also a list view if you prefer a linear layout. ### Can I preview posts before they go live? Yes. Every post gets an exact live preview in the composer that matches how it will appear on the target platform. You see character counts, image crops, thread formatting and any platform-specific constraints before you hit publish or schedule. ### What happens if a scheduled post fails to publish? If a post fails (for example, because a token expired or the platform rejected the content), DunSocial marks it as failed in the calendar and notifies you. You can review the error, fix the issue, and reschedule. Failed posts are never silently lost. ## AI & brand voice How the AI learns your tone and writes for you. ### How does the AI learn my brand voice? Through AI Memory and Voice Presets. You save brand facts, tone, likes and dislikes into memory collections, which are stored with vector search so the right ones are pulled into the right post. Voice Presets are reusable personas you can switch between, for example a founder voice and a company voice. The more you write and correct, the closer the drafts land. ### Will my posts sound generic or robotic? No, because DunSocial does not start from a blank prompt. It writes with your saved memory, your voice preset, and your past posts as context, then reshapes the draft for each platform. You review and approve everything before it publishes, so nothing goes out that does not sound like you. ### Does DunSocial generate images with AI? No. DunSocial does not have native image generation. The AI writes and plans your posts, but the media is yours: you upload images and video to the gallery and reuse them from there. ### Where do post ideas come from? From Daily Ideas and live research. Daily Ideas suggests on-brand things to post, generated from your memory and your stated expertise. While you write, DunSocial can search the web and read a URL you paste, so a post can be grounded in something that is actually true today rather than in the model's training data. ### Which AI providers power DunSocial? DunSocial uses multiple AI providers: OpenAI, Google Gemini, Perplexity, and OpenRouter. The app picks the best provider for each task (generation, research, or refinement) so you get strong results without configuring anything. You do not need your own API keys. ### How does voice-to-post work? You record audio in the app and DunSocial transcribes it into an on-brand draft, shaped by your voice preset and memory. It is useful when you think better out loud than in a text box: talk through an idea, and the AI turns it into a platform-ready post you can review and edit before scheduling. ### What are Daily Ideas and how do they work? Daily Ideas are AI-generated post suggestions based on your saved memory and stated expertise. They give you a starting point when you do not know what to post. You can take an idea and turn it into a full draft in the composer, refine it with the AI, or discard it. They refresh regularly so you always have fresh angles. ### What is AI Memory and how do I use it? AI Memory is a persistent knowledge base for your brand. You save facts, tone guidelines, preferences and context into collections, and the AI pulls from them automatically when writing posts. Memory is stored with vector search, so the most relevant entries surface for each topic. You can add, edit and delete memories from the dashboard or over MCP. ### Can I use DunSocial without the AI? Yes. The AI is there to help, not to gate features. You can compose posts manually, schedule them, use the content calendar, manage media, and collaborate with your team without ever touching the AI writing tools. ## MCP & integrations Using DunSocial from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and the CLI. ### Can I use DunSocial from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor? Yes. DunSocial ships a hosted MCP (Model Context Protocol) server with 39 tools covering posts, drafts, memory, media and workspaces. It works with Claude Desktop, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Cline and Continue, and any MCP-compatible client. You connect it once, in about two minutes, and then you can say "draft a launch thread and schedule it for peak time" in your assistant. Posts created this way are tagged with an MCP source in the app. ### Is there a CLI for DunSocial? Yes. The dunsocial package (also aliased as dun) is available on npm and designed for local terminals, coding agents, and CI pipelines. You can schedule posts, publish threads, and manage drafts from the command line. It authenticates via device login for humans or Personal Access Tokens for automation. ### How does the Slack integration work? DunSocial integrates with Slack so you can capture draft ideas and collaborate on posts without leaving your workspace. When someone shares an idea in Slack, it becomes a draft in DunSocial that you can refine and schedule from the dashboard. ### How does MCP authentication work? MCP uses OAuth 2.1. You add the MCP endpoint URL in your AI client (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, etc.), and the client opens DunSocial so you can choose a workspace and approve the requested scopes. Access tokens are short-lived, audience-bound, and automatically refreshed by the client. There is nothing to configure beyond the URL; it takes about two minutes. ### Does DunSocial have an API? DunSocial does not expose a traditional REST API for third parties, but it offers two programmatic surfaces: the MCP server (39 tools for AI assistants) and the CLI (dunsocial on npm). Both cover the full post lifecycle, media, memory and workspace management. ## Teams & security Workspaces, roles, data ownership and limits. ### Can my team work in DunSocial together? Yes. DunSocial has team workspaces with role-based access: owner, admin and member. You invite people by email, you can run multiple workspaces from one account, and everyone shares the same memory and voice presets so the output stays on brand. Each extra seat is $8 per month or $77 per year. ### Is my data secure, and who owns my content? You own your content. Your social account tokens are stored encrypted, your posts and memories are scoped to your workspace and visible only to its members, and we do not sell your data. You can delete any post, draft, memory or media asset at any time, in the app or over MCP. ### What is DunSocial not good at? It is a creation and publishing tool, not an all-in-one social suite. There is no social inbox, so you cannot manage comments or DMs from it, and there is no deep analytics dashboard beyond the posting-time heatmap. It does not generate images. It publishes to X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, Reddit, Pinterest, YouTube Shorts, and TikTok in limited beta — so if Facebook is central to your strategy today, DunSocial is not the right tool yet. ### Can I transfer workspace ownership to someone else? Yes. The workspace owner can transfer ownership to any active member from Settings → Team. The current owner becomes an admin and the target becomes the new owner. Only one person can be the owner at a time. ### How do I delete my account or close a workspace? Closing a workspace is done by the owner from Settings → Workspace → Danger zone. It cancels your subscription, revokes CLI tokens, and removes all workspace data including posts, drafts, social accounts, and media. Deleting your account requires you to first transfer or close any workspaces you own. ### How are my social account tokens stored? All OAuth tokens for your connected social accounts are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM before they are stored in the database. Tokens are automatically refreshed on platform-specific schedules, for example every 90 minutes for X, every 18 hours for LinkedIn, and every 50 days for Threads and Instagram. ### What roles are available in a workspace? There are three roles: owner, admin and member. The owner has full control including billing, workspace deletion and ownership transfer. Admins can manage accounts, posts, memory and members. Members can compose, schedule and publish but cannot change workspace settings or manage other members. ## About this document This is the Markdown representation of https://www.dunsocial.com/faq.
