# How to install DunSocial skills for coding agents > Run dun skill install claude (or codex, cursor, or all) to put the bundled skill file where your agent reads it. The skill teaches the agent to use --json, check auth & workspace first, never invent account ids & treat drafts as drafts. Updated: 2026-10-05. ## What the skill is The `dunsocial` npm package ships a short skill file. It teaches a local coding agent how to sign in, pick a workspace & schedule posts through the CLI, so you don't have to explain it in every session. Remote chat hosts, like ChatGPT or Claude in the browser, should use MCP instead. Skills are for agents running on your machine. ## See the supported agents ```bash dun skill list dun skill path ``` `list` shows every supported agent & where the skill would be installed under your home directory. `path` prints where the bundled skill file lives inside the package. ## Install for your agent ```bash dun skill install claude dun skill install codex dun skill install cursor dun skill install all ``` Supported targets include `claude`, `codex`, `cursor`, `pi`, `opencode`, `agents`, `copilot`, `windsurf`, `goose`, `gemini`, `amp`, `grok`, `continue` & `antigravity`. ## Where it lands Each agent reads skills from its own folder. For example, Claude gets `~/.claude/skills/dunsocial/`, Codex gets `~/.codex/skills/dunsocial/` & Cursor gets `~/.cursor/skills/dunsocial/`. Restart the agent or open a new session after installing so it picks the skill up. The skill ships inside DunSocial's npm package, so there's nothing separate to download. ## What the skill tells the agent to do 1. Prefer `--json` on every command 2. Run `auth status`, then `workspace use`, then `accounts list` before posting 3. Never invent account ids 4. Treat `drafts create` as a draft, not a publish These four rules prevent most agent mistakes, such as posting to a guessed account or claiming something is live when it was only saved. These rules match how DunSocial's CLI & API behave, so an agent following them won't fight the tool. ## Keep a human in the loop An agent with the CLI can schedule real posts. DunSocial's calendar still shows them with a CLI source badge, so you can review what an agent queued before it goes out. For extra safety, give the agent a personal access token with only the scopes it needs, such as drafting & scheduling, & leave out immediate publishing. ## Skill or MCP? Use a skill with the CLI when the agent runs in your terminal or editor on your machine. Use MCP when the agent is a hosted chat product. Both reach the same DunSocial workspace, so the choice is about where the agent lives. ## Related guides - [How to connect Claude to DunSocial over MCP](https://www.dunsocial.com/hub/dunsocial-mcp-guides/how-to-connect-claude-to-dunsocial-mcp.md) - [How to connect an AI agent to your social accounts safely](https://www.dunsocial.com/hub/social-media-automation-for-developers/how-to-connect-an-ai-agent-to-your-social-media-accounts-safely.md) - [CLI vs API vs MCP: which one should you use?](https://www.dunsocial.com/hub/social-media-automation-for-developers/cli-vs-api-vs-mcp-which-one-should-you-use.md) - [How to install the DunSocial CLI](https://www.dunsocial.com/hub/dunsocial-cli-guides/how-to-install-the-dunsocial-cli.md) ## About this document This is the Markdown representation of https://www.dunsocial.com/hub/dunsocial-cli-guides/how-to-install-dunsocial-skills-for-coding-agents.
