# How to revoke an AI assistant's access to your social accounts > Open Settings → MCP in DunSocial to see & revoke connections, then remove the connector inside the assistant too. Revoking stops new tool calls. Posts already scheduled stay on the calendar until you cancel them, so review the queue afterwards. Updated: 2026-10-05. ## Why you might revoke You changed assistants, you shared a workspace with someone who no longer needs access, or you simply want a narrower grant. Revoking is cheap & you can reconnect later. ## Where to do it In DunSocial, open Settings → MCP. That page shows the endpoint & lets you manage or revoke connections. Then remove the connector inside the assistant too, so it stops trying to reconnect with stale settings. ## What revoking stops Once a connection is revoked, the assistant can't make new tool calls against your workspace. Access tokens are short-lived & the refresh stops working, so there's no long-lived secret left behind. Because the connection was OAuth rather than a pasted key, there's nothing to rotate in a config file. ## What it doesn't undo Revoking doesn't change what the assistant already did. Posts it scheduled stay on the calendar, & anything it published stays published. After revoking, open the DunSocial calendar & review the scheduled posts. Edit or cancel anything you don't want to go out. ## If you suspect misuse Revoke first, then review. Check the calendar for posts you didn't expect & look at connected accounts, drafts & memory for changes. If a platform account itself may be compromised, reconnect it through the normal flow. DunSocial stores platform tokens encrypted, & you can disconnect an account at any time. ## Reconnecting with less access When you reconnect, read the approval screen. If you only want drafting & scheduling, check which scopes it shows before approving. You can also bind the new connection to a different workspace, since each connection is locked to the one you pick at approval. DunSocial shows the requested scopes on its own approval page, so you decide there, not in the assistant. ## Make it a routine Review the connections list every few months, the same way you'd review team members. An assistant you stopped using is still a way in until it's revoked. DunSocial's Settings → MCP page is the single place to check, so a quarterly look takes a minute. ## Related guides - [What permissions does a DunSocial MCP connection need?](https://www.dunsocial.com/hub/dunsocial-mcp-guides/what-permissions-does-a-dunsocial-mcp-connection-need.md) - [How to connect an AI agent to your social accounts safely](https://www.dunsocial.com/hub/social-media-automation-for-developers/how-to-connect-an-ai-agent-to-your-social-media-accounts-safely.md) - [What happens when a team member leaves a social media workspace?](https://www.dunsocial.com/hub/social-media-for-teams-and-agencies/what-happens-when-a-team-member-leaves-a-social-media-workspace.md) - [How to connect Claude to DunSocial over MCP](https://www.dunsocial.com/hub/dunsocial-mcp-guides/how-to-connect-claude-to-dunsocial-mcp.md) ## About this document This is the Markdown representation of https://www.dunsocial.com/hub/dunsocial-mcp-guides/how-to-revoke-an-ai-assistants-access-to-your-social-accounts.
