# How agencies manage multiple client social media accounts > The workable pattern is one workspace per client, kept fully separate, rather than one shared workspace with every client's accounts mixed together. Isolation prevents a mistake on one client's account from touching another's, & keeps billing & reporting cleanly per client. Updated: 2026-09-25. ## Why one shared workspace across clients goes wrong Mixing several clients' accounts into a single workspace means every team member with access can see, & potentially post to, every client's accounts, not just the ones they're actually assigned to. A mistake, posting the wrong client's content to the wrong account, becomes a real & embarrassing risk the moment more than one client shares the same workspace. ## The isolated-workspace pattern Running one separate workspace per client keeps each client's accounts, drafts, calendar & history completely separate from every other client's. A team member gets added only to the specific client workspaces they actually work on, rather than having access to every client by default. This also makes handing a client off to a different team member, or offboarding a client entirely, a clean, contained action. ## What isolation actually protects against - A team member accidentally drafting or scheduling to the wrong client's account - A client's data or post history being visible to someone working on a different client - Reporting or analytics numbers bleeding across clients when building a report for one specific one - Billing that's murky about which client's usage is driving the cost Any of these becomes a real problem at agency scale, where several team members juggle several clients simultaneously, in a way it usually isn't for a single in-house team managing one brand. ## Assigning team members across workspaces A team member working across three clients needs access to exactly those three workspaces, not the agency's entire client roster. Reviewing workspace access periodically, as clients get added, dropped, or reassigned between team members, keeps access matching who's actually still working on what. DunSocial grants access per workspace specifically for this, so adding someone to a fourth client is one invite, not a change to what they can see across the other three. ## How DunSocial supports this pattern DunSocial's workspaces are fully isolated from each other: connected accounts, drafts, calendar & analytics in one workspace never appear in another, & a team member's access is granted per workspace, not globally across every client an agency runs. Each workspace can also have its own billing, which keeps a per-client cost visible rather than one blended bill covering every client an agency manages. ## Reporting per client without cross-contamination A client expects a report about their own accounts, not a summary that accidentally includes another client's numbers. Keeping each client in its own isolated workspace means DunSocial's analytics dashboard for that workspace only ever reflects that one client's connected accounts, which is what makes a clean, client-specific report possible in the first place. ## Related guides - [How to set up a social media team in a shared workspace](https://www.dunsocial.com/hub/social-media-for-teams-and-agencies/how-to-set-up-a-social-media-team-in-a-shared-workspace.md) - [Agency vs in-house: which social media team structure fits?](https://www.dunsocial.com/hub/social-media-for-teams-and-agencies/agency-vs-in-house-which-social-media-team-structure-fits.md) - [How much does it cost to add team members to a social media tool?](https://www.dunsocial.com/hub/social-media-for-teams-and-agencies/how-much-does-it-cost-to-add-team-members-to-a-social-media-tool.md) - [How to manage multiple social media accounts](https://www.dunsocial.com/hub/social-media-management/how-to-manage-multiple-social-media-accounts.md) ## About this document This is the Markdown representation of https://www.dunsocial.com/hub/social-media-for-teams-and-agencies/how-agencies-manage-multiple-client-social-media-accounts.
