## The general answer, if you want a starting point

If you have no posting history yet & need somewhere to start, the closest thing to an industry-wide answer comes from [Sprout Social's analysis](https://sproutsocial.com/insights/best-times-to-post-on-social-media/) of nearly 2 billion engagements across roughly 307,000 social profiles, published March 2026.

Wednesday came out as the single strongest day across platforms in that dataset. It's a reasonable default while you have no data of your own, not a rule for your specific account.

## Why generic advice only gets you so far

That window is an average across hundreds of thousands of accounts with completely different audiences, time zones & platforms. It describes a typical account, not necessarily yours.

An audience that's mostly on one continent behaves differently from one spread globally, & a B2B audience checks social media on a different clock than a consumer one. This is exactly why the general answer is a starting point, not a destination.

## What actually predicts a good time for your account

- When your specific followers have engaged with past posts
