# Can you schedule Instagram & TikTok posts in advance?

> Instagram posts can be scheduled in advance through most established tools. TikTok scheduling exists too, but support for it is newer & less consistent across the market, so it is worth checking specifically before assuming it works the same way.

## Instagram scheduling

Scheduling to Instagram is a mature, generally available feature across most established tools, DunSocial included. What differs between tools is which post types are covered.

- Feed images
- Carousels, multiple images or a mix of image & video
- Reels

Instagram requires media on every post. There's no text-only option, which is a real constraint worth planning drafts around rather than discovering at schedule time.

## TikTok scheduling

TikTok scheduling support is newer across the industry than Instagram's, & tools vary in how complete it is. DunSocial supports TikTok as a limited beta connection: scheduling works, but it hasn't been through the same length of production use as its generally available networks, which is stated plainly rather than treated as equivalent.

If TikTok is one channel among several you run, connecting it in limited beta is usually still worth doing rather than running a separate dedicated tool just for that one platform.

## What to check before relying on either

- Does the tool require specific media specs, aspect ratio, length, format, before it will accept the post
- Is there a preview showing how the post will actually look on that platform, not just a generic composer view
- For TikTok specifically, is the connection labelled beta or fully general availability, & does the tool say so
